As a Senior Associate at Isaacson, Miller, Phuong has played a leading role in identifying and recruiting President, CEO, Dean, and other senior leadership positions in higher education and the art and culture sector. He has supported a broad portfolio of clients nationally, spanning from private liberal art colleges, public land-grant universities, and community colleges to symphony orchestras. Phuong’s deep commitment to advancing underrepresented leaders ensures his thorough and diligent effort in candidate outreach and pool development. 

Previously, Phuong worked at The Posse Foundation, a non-profit organization that awards full-tuition scholarships to predominantly low-income, first-generation college students. While there, he partnered with school districts and community-based organizations in the Greater Houston area, recruited and supported Posse Scholars at UT Austin and Bryn Mawr College.

A first-generation immigrant from Vietnam, Phuong came to the U.S. at the age of 17. He holds a BA in American Studies (with a concentration in Comparative Race & Ethnicity) from Tufts University and a MA in Policy, Organization, and Leadership Studies from Stanford Graduate School of Education. Phuong is passionate about supporting marginalized communities in attaining resources to thrive. He co-founded the Resilient 1st Gen community during his time at Stanford and enjoys volunteering with local college access and LGBTQ+ organizations.
