Natalie Leonhard

Natalie Leonhard joined IM in 2007. Throughout her tenure at IM, Natalie has partnered with a variety of academic medical centers and medical associations to conduct leadership searches for clinical, academic, research, and administrative roles.

As a member of IM’s healthcare practice, Natalie regularly gathers to discuss trends in the field, the demands leaders face, and effective recruiting strategies for outstanding candidates in the academic medicine and health professions.

She has a depth of experience recruiting deans, associate deans, and chairs within colleges of medicine, health professions, nursing, and public health. Recent searches include clinical chairs and other leaders at the at the University of Michigan Medical Center as well as leaders at the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Natalie also has significant experience recruiting student affairs leaders, including for student health services.

In addition to her work in the healthcare practice, Natalie brings deep experience supporting zoos and aquariums in their leadership searches. This began in 2012 when she supported the President + CEO search at The Toledo Zoo, the zoo she grew up attending.

Natalie believes that academic medicine, higher education institutions, and NGOs are major contributors to our nation and, therefore, demand the best leaders.
