He has held executive and senior leadership roles at the Sacramento Zoo, Denver Zoo, and The Walt Disney Company, most recently serving as the Chief Operating Officer of the Audubon Nature Institute in New Orleans. Dr. Burks earned both his doctorate and master’s degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology.As a passionate advocate for conservation, Dr. Burks is dedicated to advancing the Wilder Institute’s mission of restoring the balance between wildlife and human life.
