Vice President for Marketing University of South Carolina | Columbia, South Carolina The University of South Carolina (USC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Dillon, as its inaugural Vice President for Marketing, effective November 18, 2024. In this newly created role reporting to President Michael Amiridis, Dillon will serve as the chief marketing and branding officer for the University of South Carolina and will be charged with crafting a cohesive marketing and branding platform based on the university’s current accomplishments, strategic goals, and community values. Dillon joins USC during a pivotal time of growth and momentum for the University. Dillon is a nationally recognized leader with extensive experience in higher education marketing and brand management. With more than 31 years of marketing experience, Dillon most recently served as vice president for marketing at the University of Florida (UF). Prior to his tenure at UF, Dillon oversaw marketing efforts at Arizona State University, where he successfully led innovative strategies to transform ASU’s brand alignment, as well as its reputation and perception among the university’s varied constituencies. As a result of his leadership, ASU was recognized as the #1 Most Innovative University by US News & World Report and was selected to join the Association of American Universities (AAU). Dillon’s career has also included marketing leadership in the corporate sector, including The Coca-Cola Company, Ruby Tuesday Inc., H.J. Heinz and Con Agra Frozen Foods, among others. Dillon earned his Bachelor of Arts from St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire, and his MBA from Bentley College in Boston, Massachusetts.Jack Gorman and Elizabeth Neustaedter led this search with Christina Garrison and Ryan Cheung.
