Chair, Department of Emergency Medicine University of Oklahoma, College of Medicine | Oklahoma City, Oklahoma We are pleased to announce that the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine has named Dr. Azeemuddin Ahmed, MD, MBA, as professor and Chair of the newly established Department of Emergency Medicine in Oklahoma City at the OU College of Medicine, as well as Clinical Service Chief of Emergency Medicine at OU Health. Dr. Ahmed will begin his role on August 18.Dr. Ahmed comes to Oklahoma from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, where he served as clinical professor and executive vice chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine. He has over 20 years of academic and clinical expertise.At the University of Iowa, Dr. Ahmed founded and directed the Division of Emergency Medical Services and the Emergency Medical Services Fellowship. He served as the medical director for Kinnick Stadium and Carver Hawkeye Arena as well as the medical director for the Bureau of Emergency Medical and Trauma Services at the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services.A fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Academy of Emergency Medical Services, Dr. Ahmed earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and completed his residency in emergency medicine at Michigan State University.
