From a strong pool of candidates, UNR has selected Alicia Diaz-Thomas to fill this important position.Dr. Diaz-Thomas brings over 20 years of experience in academic medicine. Most recently she has served as the Associate Dean, Faculty Affairs of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in Memphis, where she also served as Director for the Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship Program. In addition to her background at the University of Tennessee, Dr. Diaz-Thomas has worked for a wide range of universities and hospitals including the University of Memphis, Tulane School of Medicine, LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.Dr. Diaz-Thomas holds an MD from Tulane School of Medicine, an MPH from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and a BA in English Literature and Latin American Studies from Tulane University.David Bellshaw and Jay Torio led this search with Jane McInerney.
