Assistant Dean for Development Massachusetts Institute of Technology, School of Science | Cambridge, Massachusetts Jennifer Rosales has been named the assistant dean for development at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Science. She joined MIT on November 4, 2024 from Boston Children’s Hospital Trust where she most recently served as the assistant vice president for foundation and research relations.MIT’s second largest school and largest annual philanthropic generator, the School of Science is led by Dean Nergis Mavalvala, an award-winning physicist and trailblazer in her field. Rosales will partner with Dr. Mavalvala as a senior member of her leadership team to advance the dean’s vision and create a comprehensive, strategic plan to raise philanthropic support and awareness for the school’s six departments, four institutes, and two centers. As chief fundraiser, Rosales will lead a team to ensure sustainable, long-term growth in philanthropic contributions, which yielded $175 million last fiscal year.Rosales is a deeply seasoned development leader who is passionate about science and discovery. Her early career included successful roles building and guiding corporate and foundation relations programs at the University of Hawaii and the University of California, Los Angeles. Rosales most recently spent seven years at Boston Children’s Hospital, where she led a new research-focused fundraising program targeting newly identified, highest-level institutional prospects. Demonstrating herself as an innovative program builder, team leader, and faculty partner, Rosales grew annual programmatic support from $37 million to $102 million during her tenure.A native of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Rosales received her bachelor’s degree in communications from Regis College.Jack Gorman led this search with Grace Zakim and Ryan Cheung.
