Director of Clinical Medicine University of Wisconsin-Madison | Madison, Wisconsin The University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison) seeks an accomplished and innovative physician leader to serve as its next Director of Clinical Medicine at University Health Services (UHS). The Director of Clinical Medicine will provide strategic direction and oversight for medical care at UW-Madison while serving as a compassionate clinician, thought partner, thought partner and an integral partner across UHS for all work related to health and wellness. The Director of Clinical Medicine will bring a passion for providing medical services tailored to students’ needs and support and champion an integrated and holistic care model. UHS is the student health center at UW-Madison, and it provides comprehensive medical and mental health care, and prevention services to members of the UW-Madison campus community. The Director of Clinical Medicine reports to the Director of Medical Services and will be a collaborative member of the Medical Services team as a culture of belonging grows for the staff. The Director of Clinical Medicine is responsible for supporting physicians and advanced practice professional providers in their growth and development as clinicians as well as ensuring their success in providing high-quality evidence-based medical care to patients. The Director of Clinical Medicine will collaborate with primary care and gynecology clinical leadership on the supervision and development of all providers and the clinical practice across Medical Services clinics. The position has direct supervisory experience for three clinical leaders who, in turn, oversee a multidisciplinary medical team that includes primary care, gynecology, sexual health, travel medicine, allergy and immunization, physical therapy, and athletic training. The Director of Clinical Medicine must be an effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communicator with the ability to effectively interact with diverse populations and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. The successful candidate must hold the earned degree of MD or DO and be currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a physician in the State of Wisconsin.
