Provost Mount Saint Mary's University, Los Angeles | Los Angeles, California Mount Saint Mary’s University (The Mount), the only women’s university in Los Angeles and one of the most diverse in the nation, seeks an experienced, highly collaborative, and entrepreneurial leader to serve as its next Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs (Provost). Reporting directly to President Ann McElaney-Johnson, the new Provost will be joining the university at an exciting time as The Mount embarks on new, innovative endeavors as it approaches its next centennial in 2025. The Provost will be joining a university community ready to define its next chapter in support of its social justice mission and to make a positive impact on the world. Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1925, and guided by a firm commitment to the institutional mission to educate a diverse student body, The Mount is known nationally for its commitment to the Liberal Arts, research on gender equity, its innovative health and science programs, and its commitment to community service and global justice. It provides year-round, flexible, in-person and online programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and serves approximately 2,300 students, including approximately 600 graduate students. The Mount has 122 full-time faculty, 323 part-time instructors, and Academic Affairs employs approximately 100 staff members. It is a Hispanic-Serving Institution and an Asian American Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution and is recognized by US News and World Report as the top institution in the Western region for social mobility. The women’s college is housed predominantly at the Chalon Campus, while just 16 miles away near downtown Los Angeles, the Doheny Campus is home to gender-inclusive degree programs through the Weekend/Evening & Online College and 11 graduate degree programs. The Chalon campus is in the Brentwood neighborhood overlooking the Santa Monica Mountains and Pacific Ocean; the Doheny campus is centrally located to all that downtown Los Angeles has to offer. The Mount also has a Hollywood Studio across the street from the TCL Chinese Theatre that houses their film programs.The Provost will be joining The Mount community at a significant inflection point.
