Levan | NSU Broward Center of Innovation, an award-winning private-public partnership between Nova Southeastern University (NSU) and Broward County, welcomes applications and nominations for the position of Chief Innovation Officer and Executive Director (CINO). Under the leadership of the CINO, the Levan Center attracts and retains industry-leading entrepreneurs, sources of investment capital, and supporting resources and partnerships with the goal of creating the premier innovation center in South Florida. The CINO is charged with sharpening a comprehensive strategy, increasing engagement and start-up incubation within NSU and throughout Broward County and South Florida, and elevating the profile of the Levan Center as the premier convener and resource for entrepreneurial innovation.Founded in 2021, the Levan Center was established as a magnet for start-ups, accelerators, incubation, and angel investments that drive sustainable entrepreneurial innovation in technology, life and health sciences, financial services, and other industries in South Florida’s thriving business ecosystem. The Center provides programming, networking, mentoring, workspaces, wraparound business services, and state-of-the-art amenities in 54,000 square feet of space at NSU’s main campus near Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Founded in 1964, NSU has grown to become Florida’s largest private research university with over 22,000 students enrolled across 14 colleges and 5 medical schools. NSU recently achieved R1 Carnegie Classification status.With a mandate to support innovation and entrepreneurial education throughout NSU, grow engagement with the South Florida business community, and continue to elevate the profile of the Levan Center, the CINO will be action-oriented, focused, and work collaboratively with academic, civic, and business leaders to enhance a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem. The successful candidate will be a convener, motivator, and relationship builder with the gravitas to capitalize on South Florida’s thriving entrepreneurial scene and NSU’s vast educational, clinical, research, and innovation enterprise.
