Karen Caldwell has been named the Chief Financial Officer at Tides. 

Karen Caldwell brings 30+ years of finance, strategy, investment, and operations expertise to Tides. Fueled by her heartfelt passion for advancing social justice, she is excited to leverage her financial and operational acumen to foster meaningful change in alignment with Tides’ mission as the Chief Financial Officer.

Most recently, Karen was the Reform Alliance’s Chief Financial Officer, collaborating closely with executive leadership to champion criminal justice reform. Her extensive background spans financial reporting, accounting, investments, and risk management across sectors, including finance, government, and nonprofit organizations.

Previously, Karen held CFO roles in major organizations such as the NHP Foundation and the New York City Housing Authority, managing budgets exceeding $3.5 billion. Earlier in her career, she gained invaluable experience as a capital markets strategist at prestigious institutions like Amundi, ABN AMRO, and JP Morgan.

Karen earned a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.
