Anne Schouw | Chief Development Officer Rare, Chief Development Officer Rare, an international conservation organization specializing in social change for the environment, announced Anne Schouw as the next Chief Development Officer. Reporting to Rare’s president, Dr. Caleb McClennen, Schouw will lead the organization’s development program, building upon its existing strengths and identifying new opportunities for continued growth to meet and exceed Rare’s needs, now and into the future. A seasoned fundraising and engagement professional, Schouw joins Rare from the ONE Campaign (ONE) where she most recently served as chief development officer. In this role, Schouw successfully led the evolution and implementation of ONE’s resource mobilization strategy. Schouw brings more than 25 years of experience as a philanthropy and development professional working across various organizational settings and missions, including the World Wildlife Fund, American Red Cross, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, London Business School, and Conservation International. Schouw also has significant expertise in coordination international fundraising missions with stakeholders in Africa, Latin America, and Europe. In addition to her professional career, Schouw has served on the board of governors at London Business School, is a trustee of Nature for Justice, and is currently chair of the fundraising committee and board secretary at Planet Women. Schouw earned a bachelor’s degree in international affairs and modern foreign language from James Madison University and a master of science degree in management consulting and organizational change from Birbeck University in London.
