Suzanne McCotter, PhD | Dean, Graduate School of Education Bank Street College of Education, Dean, Graduate School of Education Bank Street has appointed Suzanne McCotter, PhD as the next Dean of the Graduate School of Education. McCotter brings extensive experience as a leader, educator, and advocate for equity and student-centered learning. Most recently serving as Interim Provost at the College of New Jersey (TCNJ), she has led major initiatives to diversify the teacher workforce, expand access for first-generation students, and address pandemic-related learning gaps. Her career spans roles across K-12 and higher education, including as a middle school teacher, school of education dean, and academic leader at Montclair State University. McCotter’s connection to Bank Street runs deep: her father taught at the School for Children, and she grew up immersed in its progressive values. She returns to Bank Street with a deep personal connection to its mission and passion for collaborative, community-driven change. McCotter holds a PhD in Middle School Education from the University of Georgia and a Master of Library Science from Rutgers University.
